Donald Trump, the first former US president to be charged with a criminal offense, is seeking to profit from his supporters by selling T-shirts featuring a fake mug shot. He was arraigned in New York on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to alleged hush-money payments to three women. Although he was not expected to have his mug shot taken, his 2024 presidential campaign listed a T-shirt for sale showing what appears to be a mug shot of Trump above the words “Not Guilty”. The T-shirt is being sold for $36, and donors who contribute $47 or more will receive a free T-shirt with the mug-shot image. The Trump campaign has been soliciting donations by attempting to stir up outrage over the situation. Trump is also facing other possible charges, including an investigation into his involvement in the January 6, 2021, insurrection. Despite being removed from major internet platforms in the wake of the riot at the US Capitol, he has been reinstated on some platforms, and he has claimed he will exclusively use Truth Social, a Twitter-like app launched by Trump Media & Technology Group.
